Hydro Tasmania has provided the Tasmanian Government with an updated projection for the low point for hydro storages, in light of yesterday’s announcement by Basslink Pty Ltd.

Hydro Tasmania has rejected claims by Unions Tasmania that energy blackouts are imminent.

Basslink Pty Ltd has issued a statement rejecting claims made today that the repair vessel Ile de Rey would not continue to be available to complete the repair process on the cable.

Site works have begun to enable the installation of around 20 megawatts (MW) of temporary diesel generation at Port Latta.
