Hydro Tasmania is pumped to be a part of the Cradle Coast Future Energy Hub, launched today in Burnie.

This exciting initiative brings together Tasmania’s renewable energy industry proponents into a central shared space, for industry collaboration, to share information with the community, and to host engagement activities.

A joint initiative of the Cradle Coast Authority, TasNetworks and Hydro Tasmania, the Cradle Coast Future Energy Hub is now open for business and the community is welcome to visit.

Hydro Tasmania CEO, Steve Davy, welcomed the launch and the opportunities the space would offer renewable energy participants and the community.

“It’s great to see a dedicated space, right in the heartland of renewable energy activity, where the community can come to hear more about Tasmania’s exciting future, and where the industry can work together and have a shared space to host their local engagement activities.”

“Hydro Tasmania has already been out talking to communities in the North West and on the West Coast about our top three pumped hydro opportunities.

“We are committed to providing those communities with information at every stage and seeking their input on what matters to them. We want to make sure that the projects we pursue will deliver benefits to Tasmania, and to Tasmanian communities.”

“Hydro Tasmania will be here at the Cradle Coast Future Energy Hub in Burnie this month, hosting a drop-in information session to talk about our pumped hydro feasibility study and hear from the community.”
