Statement by Hydro Tasmania CEO, Steve Davy

Hydro Tasmania notes the announcement made last night by Keppel Infrastructure Trust (KIT), owners of the Basslink interconnector through Basslink Pty Ltd, in relation to a dispute over the 2015 interconnection outage.

Basslink Pty Ltd is using the process available to parties under the Basslink Services Agreement to resolve disagreements.

This dispute will not have any impact on Tasmanian energy security or the financial health of Hydro Tasmania.

Hydro Tasmania will manage this process in the best interests of the business and Tasmania.
