The Hydro Tasmania group and its people are contributing almost $50,000 to relief efforts in Nepal following the devastating 25 April earthquake.

An internal fundraising campaign saw Hydro Tasmania group employees donate a total of $22,160 for relief and reconstruction efforts in Nepal. This includes donations from employees of Hydro Tasmania’s international consulting business Entura and electricity retailer Momentum Energy.

Hydro Tasmania made a corporate donation of $5,000, but has also matched employee donations. In total, the Hydro Tasmania group and its staff will contribute $49,320 to the relief effort.

The funds are being distributed across seven international aid agencies, as well as a specific reconstruction effort in the Lamjung district in western Nepal, where Entura’s India team had been working around the time the earthquake struck.
