Changed access to boat ramps

4 February 2016

Hydro Tasmania and Marine and Safety Tasmania advise that low water levels have affected the availability of boat ramps at three lakes.

Lake Echo
The Lake Echo Dam boat ramp has been closed.

The remaining two formal ramps are still operational on Lake Echo, however Hydro Tasmania and MAST recommend the use of four wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles when using the Middle Lake Echo boat ramp.

Lake King William
Hydro Tasmania and MAST recommend the use of four wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles when accessing the Lake King William boat ramp (at the Butlers Gorge end of Lake King William).

Woods Lake
Hydro Tasmania and MAST recommend the use of four wheel drive or all-wheel drive vehicles when accessing the Woods Lake boat ramp.

Ramps that are closed due to low water levels will remain closed until water levels increase to a level that permits safe launching.

Up to date information on access to water bodies managed by Hydro Tasmania is available on Hydro Tasmania’s website at http://www.hydro.com.au/community/recreational-sites

Hydro Tasmania is committed to keeping all Tasmanians informed about our actions as we work through the current dry period.

Ends.
