The new Hydro Tasmania Community Grant Program will offer six grants of up to $5,000 for not-for-profit community organisations.
The Chief Executive Officer of Hydro Tasmania, Steve Davy, said the program is an exciting initiative that will help fund projects that make a difference in Tasmanian communities.
“We strive to support our communities wherever possible – whether by lending a hand to people in need, sharing our skills and expertise, or providing people to help with community activities and events,” Mr Davy said.
“Hydro Tasmania’s employees have a strong community spirit, with more than a quarter of our staff volunteering in the community each year.
“The new Community Grant Program will fund projects that showcase grassroots groups and volunteers working hard in their community, and support them to achieve great outcomes,” Mr Davy said.
Applications for the Hydro Tasmania Community Grant Program open on 8 February and close at 5:00 pm on 31 March. The grants will be awarded in July.
There’s more information on the 2017 grant program, including how to apply, on Hydro Tasmania’s website.
