Water storage levels

We’re Australia’s largest water manager – turning rainfall into clean, renewable energy for Tasmania. Our storage levels follow a secure seasonal pattern - generally peaking in the 40 per cent range during the wettest months each year, and bottoming out in the 20s during the driest part.   • Lake Rosebery reopens to public following oil spill

    Mar 07, 2025
    Lake Rosebery will reopen from 6pm Friday 7 March after eight weeks of response efforts following an oil spill in the Henry Bay area. Booms will remain in place around a very small section of Henry Bay but the boat ramp is now open to the public.
Hydro Tasmania pays respect to the rich, long and ongoing history of the Traditional Owners and Custodians and their connections to land, sea and community. The mountains, natural lakes and rivers that capture and channel water for hydropower are rich in Aboriginal history, culture and tradition. We acknowledge ongoing connection to culture and custodianship of the lands and waters of places we share. We pay our respect to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
