Australia's clean energy transition is only just getting started, and that's why it's an exciting time to be working with Hydro Tasmania. It is satisfying and rewarding to contribute to a clean and bright future for Australia.

Increasing the share and accessibility of renewables energy to the global mix is our core business. We foster a culture of innovation in renewables, built soundly upon our 100 year legacy of hydropower in Tasmania.

Go green!

As Australia’s largest water manager, ‘going beyond compliance’ in environmental management flows through everything we do. Even though we’re Australia’s largest generator of renewable energy, we’re always finding new ways to fast track our ‘sustainability cred’ inside and outside of work.

Our Green Team, with members from Hydro Tasmania, Momentum Energy and Entura, gets together virtually once a month to discuss tips and tricks, and learn about how we can do more for the planet. Topics such as circular economy, conservation, energy efficiency and EVs are typical discussion points, and we encourage all new employees to get involved.

Often the smallest of actions make the largest impact. Did you know Australia uses 50,000 disposable coffee cups a day? With the help of employees across the business, we have implemented a range of circular improvements to ensure we are doing our part to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our ‘Too Good To Waste’ project was awarded the ‘Waste Not Award’ (Rethink Waste Tasmania) in 2020, and we’re only just getting started!
